Cyanotype workshop with Blaze Arts, Burnley.
Cyanotype printing - a ‘camera-less’ process which involves printing using sunlight. Based in the Down Town Community Space (Burnley), we spent the day working with young people from the local area to create several festival flags for the upcoming Summer Young People’s festival.
Each young person was tasked with making a cyanotype using a word which reminds them of Burnley. Using other bits and pieces, the young people made their word collage, printing - using Spring sunlight - on to their pre-prepared cyanotype fabric. Once dry, the fabric collages were sewn together making the resulting festival flags.
