‘Culture Lab: Holmfirth Perspectives’. Developed and delivered with We Are Local & Kirklees Council.
Working with the local community in Holmfirth, Kirklees we created a zine, mapping Holmfirth and highlighting key cultural landmarks within the area. This workshop was commissioned by We Are Local and Kirklees Council as part of their Cultural strategy work and on-going community consultations.
As a group we walked a pre-planned route through Holmfirth focusing on nine elements of the community, events, education, outdoor spaces, nature, religion, hospotality, local produce, mills and industry, and tourism. During the walk participants were encouraged to share personal memories, and anicdotes on these spaces whilst taking photographs reflecting on these themes.
Particpants later shared their imagery, and with quotes taken from the photography walk I was able to produce the ‘Holmfirth Perspectives’ zine.
