‘We Are Salford: Celebrating 100 Years of Women Through Comedy’. Developed and delivered for Salford 100, in partnership with Comedy For Social Change and the University of Salford
We Are Salford was a socially engaged photography project documenting the development of a community-led comedy performance celebrating the centenary of Salford. Working alongside a group of local women, the project captured the creative process behind transforming everyday experiences into comedy, culminating in a one-night live performance.
Through a long-term documentary approach, the work explored themes of community, collaboration and representation, using photography to record not only the final event but also the relationships, confidence and collective storytelling that developed throughout the workshops. The project celebrated the humour, resilience and lived experiences of Salfordian women, preserving their stories through a visual record of the creative journey.
