‘Rochdale Women’s Voices’. With Community Arts North, AKashmiri Youth Project and the Hopwood Hall/Petrus Social Prescribing project. March 2024.

A collaborative workshop and celebration for International Women’s Day 2024. For this workshop I worked with young women and non-binary people from the Hopwood Hall College/Petrus social prescribing project to share their stories through written word and photography. The group worked to creatively communicate their experiences as young women, the difficulties they face, their choices, and their hopes for the future.

The photographs were displayed at Hopwood Hall Middleton campus for their International Women’s Day celebrations. The event included inspirational talks by female artists such as Medulla, the Manchester-based rapper and hip-hop artist and performances by the group of young women.

“I really enjoyed working with Ellie… I enjoyed working on taking photos of my objects and creating ways I could say my message.”
